A Rare Pair of Silver Plated Wine Bottle Coasters C1850

Description

This rare pair of silver plated wine bottle coasters are marked for maker Roberts and Slater (1845 - 1858). The beautiful fretwork bodies are capped with highly ornate cast rims. Both having turned fruitwood bases and felted bottoms. They are perfectly designed to accommodate a standard wine bottle. Both have a blank cartouche for engraving.

The condition is very good overall with no splits or dents. The plating is also in good order with only very minor wear due to age and use.

Total Weight approx 930g.

Height approx 10.5cm

Base diameter approx 12cm.

Rim diameter approx 14.5cm

Internal rim diameter approx 9cm
