17th Century William & Mary Oak Chest of Drawers, C.1690

Description

A set of William and Mary oak chest of drawers, c.1690.

The chest has a rectangular top set above three long graduated drawers with dovetail joints, solid oak linings and later handles, all raised on four bracket feet.

As expected with a piece of this age there is some wear commensurate with age and the top drawer runners are a little sticky (the drawer has to be pulled out and put back in at a particular angle), but overall it is an absolutely charming piece with a wonderful patina.
