Jane Short Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
Lined in original green velvet and fitted with eleven glass containers each with a silver lid. Seven of them are hallmarked James Vickery, London 1853. The four containers without the hallmark do bear silver lids which are not hallmarked.
There is a drawer with a key which reveals a section for jewellery which is lined in silk and leather.
The inside of the lid opens to reveal a leather writing surface.
A lovely piece in original and very good condition.
