We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An Edwardian hanging corner cabinet is a triangular wall-mounted storage piece dating from the early 20th century, designed to utilise corner space. These pieces frequently feature Chippendale revival details such as astragal glazing, moulded cornices, and decorative pediments.

These cabinets were typically constructed from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers over pine frameworks, featuring glass panes secured with timber astragal moulding. Brass hardware, such as decorative escutcheon plates and internal hinge fittings, was standard.

Authentic Edwardian cabinets show signs of hand-finished joinery, naturally aged timber patination, and original glass panes which may display minor thickness variations. Look for hand-cut dovetails or mortise and tenon frame joints alongside period-correct brass ironmongery.

Mount the cabinet at eye level in an unutilised corner or alcove to display porcelain, glassware, or small collectibles. Contrast the dark mahogany timber against neutral wall paint to highlight its architectural outline and swan-neck pediment.

Dust the cabinet regularly with a clean, dry microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year following the wood grain. Avoid placing the piece in direct sunlight or near radiator heat sources to prevent timber warping and finish degradation.
