A wonderful example of a 19th century mahogany folding travelling chess set in wholly original condition and complete with all pieces present. Circa. 1890.

The chess set's brass hinges and clasps all open and close with ease. The chess pieces are set into the board by way of pegs; all pieces remain easy to remove and replace. The board is in an excellent condition overall.
