Description

This a scarce first edition copy of 'Daniel Deronda' by George Eliot (Marian Evans), published in 1876.

Octavo. All volumes bound in half calf leather with marbled boards, and five raised bands to the spine. The title is stamped to a black leather title panel in gilt with further gilt decorating the edges of the raised bands. The extremities of each volume show some shelf wear. Volume II has a tear to the leather at the top of the spine . All boards remain firmly attached.

Marbled page edges. Blue endpapers. Erratum slip in Volume III. Volume II has an ink inscription to the front free endpaper, all other volumes are free from inscription.
