We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A dumb waiter is a multi-tiered side table originating in 18th-century Britain, designed to hold serving dishes, condiments, and wine so diners could serve themselves without servants present in the dining room.

Georgian dumb waiters were predominantly constructed from dense Cuban or West Indian mahogany, featuring hand-turned solid timber central columns and hand-shaped tripod legs.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-planed timber undersides, hand-cut dovetail or block joinery beneath the pedestal, raised tray mouldings carved directly into or applied to the tier edges, and natural dark oxidisation on unpolished surfaces.

A two-tier dumb waiter functions well as an accent drinks stand or multi-level plant display when positioned in an empty room corner, beside an armchair, or in a hallway alcove.

Position the table away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber warping or cracking, and apply a thin layer of natural beeswax polish twice annually using a clean, soft cloth.
