Finely carved mid C19th rectangular white statuary marble tablet .
 
Superbly detailed carved marble tablet , originally conceived as central decoration for a fire-surround. The deeply carved composition depicts a lattice-work basket filled with fruit , flower-heads and foliage.
 
In excellent original condition with no damage, breaks or repairs. Original surface and finish . The verso with traces of mortar and fixings.
