Bamboo, tortoise shell and hallmarked silver walking stick or cane.
The silver is stamped sterling silver, the cane dates to 1918 and has the full hallmark for the London assay office. Also has the makers mark for John Cooke and the retailers stamp for Benjamin Cox of 411 Oxford Street, London.
Tortoise shell crook handle, the colour and pattern is excellent.
The bamboo shaft has been scorched or stained and then lacquered to give it the look of an exotic wood which contrasts well with the handle.
It measures 91 cm 35 3/4 inches in length, the handle is 9 cm 3 1/2 inches wide.
The ferrule is original and made of brass and steel.
It''s in excellent condition but with some signs of age and use as you''d expect at this age. Some bumps and surface marks to the silver as shown.
The handle and shaft are excellent with no damage or repairs, minor surface marks from age.
