A fabulous antique silver travelling carriage clock in its original morocco leather silk and velvet lined case. Carrying handle, bun feet and silver gilt interior. White enamel face with black numerals. The mechanism stamped ‘G.C. Co GENEVE’. Clear part marks to the handle and inside of the door, fully hallmarked to the body with maker’s mark, town mark, date letter and sterling mark, these are all worn and maker’s mark pretty much gone.
Condition: The clock is in really excellent antique condition and looks and feels lovely, the pictures do not fully do it justice. The case is very smart, the door and carrying handle hinges in good order. The enamel face and numerals without wear or damage, the hands also. There are tiny dinks in two of the hollow bun feet but the piece stands stable and does not rock or wobble. The mechanism is in full working order and is keeping good time. The outer case has some signs of wear, see photos, but is very nice nonetheless with the catch and hinges in good order.
Maker: Maker’s mark is worn, Birmingham 1922.
Dimensions: Clock: 70 x 40 x 40mm. Case: 100 x 76 x58mm
