Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A demi-lune display cabinet is a semi-circular piece of furniture designed with a flat back to sit against a wall and a curved front, traditionally featuring glass panels for displaying ceramics, glassware, and collectables.

These cabinets are typically constructed from dense hardwoods such as mahogany, rosewood, or satinwood, often featuring decorative wood veneers, marquetry inlays, glass panes, and brass metalwork fittings.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-cut marquetry or parquetry inlays, original curved glass, cast brass hardware, hand-joined drawer or frame construction, and natural wear patterns consistent with age.

Place the cabinet against a neutral hallway wall or living room alcove to create a focal point, using the glazed section to display curated ceramics, books, or glassware while maintaining a uncluttered aesthetic.

Dust surfaces regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, avoid harsh chemical cleaners, apply beeswax sparingly to wooden surfaces annually, and keep the glass clean using a mild glass cleaner applied directly to a cloth rather than the wood.
