Jane Short Antiques has dated this piece to the 1930s.
The inside is gilded and it closes with a piano hinge which isn't visible from the outside.The piece is beautifully constructed.
No apparent markings but tests as silver.
The condition is good with just a few surface marks commensurate with age. See photos.
