Brass Chamber Stick in the Form of a Cherub. 19th Century

Description

Late 19th century chamber stick in the form of a cherub on a lily pad with a twisted vine handle . The cherub holds a butterfly in his hand. This snuffs out the candle when the cherub is twisted around at the waist. When it is twisted back it leaves space for a taller candle. There are also small holders for tapers and spills

It is heavy and well made. It weighs almost a kilo

Circa 1890

Measures 12cm tall and the the lily pad measures 17cm across
