This is a set of eight Italian figures from the Commedia dell''Arte. Each figure is .800 standard solid silver, and is stamped 800, usually on the back or cloak. They are all mounted on rectangular section mahogany bases with canted corners, a name plaque on the front, and green baize on the underside. I would date them from circa the 1960''s.
The figures are: Balanzone (Bologna), Capitan Sparenta (Genes), Stentenello (Florence), Arlecchino (Bergame), Gioinduia (Torino), Pulcinella (Naples), Meo Patacca (Rome), Pantalone (Venes).
The figures are in good general condition, though Gioinduia (Torino) is loose at the waist and can be separated into two parts (from this you can see that the figures are hollow inside). Otherwise they have wear commensurate with age.
The total weight of the figures is 765g / 24.66 oz t.
I have further photographs if you would like me to send them to you.
