Description

A lovely little oil on canvas of two children, assumed brother and sister.

The painting is in good condition with no paint losses. It may benefit from cleaning but we decided the original condition was more desirable and has its own charm.

The frame which is original is constructed of gilded wood and gesso.

It is signed in the bottom right hand corner.

Born 5 March 1828, in Berlin; died 9 October 1892, in Olevano, near Rome. Otto Brandt was the nephew of Karl Begas. He studied at the Berlin Academy of Art and in Paris with Léon Cogniet.

The hight of the painting is 18cm and the width 13cm

The overall framed piece measures: Height 32cm and Width 27cm

Otto Brandt has become collectable in recent years.
