Antique Sterling Silver Quaich

1920 - 1940
Description

A substantial quality, sterling silver quaich , Sheffield 1934. Weight 8oz .

It is in very good condition overall and there is just one small dent on the base which can be seen in the photo.The hallmark is crisp and clear.

It measures 20cm from edge to edge of both handles and is 6.8 cm high.

The depth of the bowl measures 10.5 cm.

The quaich, Scotland's cup of friendship, has been used through the centuries to offer a welcoming drink at Clan Gatherings, and other family occasions, and to friends and visitors. “Quaich” is a Scots rendering of the Gaelic word “cuach”, meaning cup.
