Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Persian carpets from the early 20th century featuring all-over designs display continuous floral, arabesque, or boteh patterns across the central field without a central medallion. Woven in established urban weaving centres, these carpets were created to cover large formal floor areas.

Traditional Persian carpets are hand-knotted using hand-spun wool pile woven onto a durable cotton foundation. Dyes from this era were frequently derived from natural vegetable and plant sources, producing enduring colour tones.

Authentic pieces exhibit variations in knot density, slight structural asymmetry inherent to hand weaving, and age-appropriate wear to the pile and fringe. Certain workshop carpets also incorporate woven maker signatures in Arabic script near the outer borders.

A large Persian carpet grounds a formal living room or dining area when placed beneath contemporary or period furniture. The detailed floral patterns and muted red and cream palette introduce visual texture to neutral decor schemes.

Vacuum gently using a suction-only attachment to prevent damage to the hand-knotted wool pile. Professional washing should be performed exclusively by specialist carpet restorers, and the piece should be rotated periodically to distribute foot traffic.
