Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the early 19th century, Regency longcase clocks feature refined neoclassical proportions, rich wood veneers such as flame mahogany, and painted dials showing Roman numerals alongside subtle floral spandrels.

These clocks were constructed with oak carcasses veneered in flame mahogany or rosewood, brass gear movements, cast iron weights, and hand-painted iron or enamel dials encased behind glass hood doors.

Authentic pieces feature weight-driven 8-day or 30-hour brass movements, hand-painted iron dials often signed by the maker, and period-appropriate cabinet construction such as hand-dovetailed trunk doors and original glass.

Position the clock in an entryway, hallway, or dining room corner where its vertical scale creates architectural interest alongside contemporary wall art or understated furnishings.

Keep the clock casing level on a stable surface, wind the mechanism regularly with the correct crank key, apply natural beeswax to the timber cabinet annually, and keep it away from direct heat sources.
