Christian Davies Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The mirror back is raised on finely turned and carved columns with subtle chamfered detail. The lower section has a beautifully figured solid walnut top with a finely carved frieze and has an arrangement of three mahogany lined drawers and a central glazed cupboard, flanked by panelled doors with fine floral carving and polychrome floral panels. The bowed ends having open shelves with turned spindled galleries, the whole standing on eight turned feet. Stamped by the maker H. Ogden, Manchester with a design number 8417. This piece is typical of high quality craftsmanship and cabinet making of this Period. H. Ogden were considered fine quality cabinet makers and were influenced by the designs of Bruce Talbert. English circa 1875
