Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco jewellery, prominent from the 1920s through the 1930s, is defined by geometric patterns, clean lines, and symmetrical proportions. This era saw widespread adoption of platinum settings, geometric step-cuts, and refined hand-engraving details.

Rings from this period were predominantly crafted from platinum or white gold to accentuate the white brilliance of diamonds. Central gemstones were commonly old European cut or old mine cut diamonds set within platinum multi-claw mountings.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-faceted old cut diamonds with open culets, high crowns, and small table facets. Look for period hallmarks, evidence of hand-carved filigree or millegrain border detailing, and platinum wirework typical of early twentieth-century craftsmanship.

An antique solitaire ring pairs effectively alongside simple modern wedding bands, such as plain platinum or slim pave-set bands. Combining vintage central pieces with understated contemporary metals balances traditional detail with clean modern lines.

Clean the ring gently using warm water, mild liquid soap, and a soft-bristled brush to remove dust behind the stone setting. Professional jewellers should inspect claw security and platinum structural integrity annually to prevent stone loss.
