'the London Lever Registered' Silver Pocket Watch And Chain

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Vintage Wrist Watch Company

''The London Lever Registered'' silver pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a key-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed The London Lever Registered. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which is signed with the name of probably the original ower of the watch, J Beddow, Wem.

The watch measures 40mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop... this is smaller than a standard pocket watch which is 50mm but bigger than a ladies'' fob watch. The case is silver and is hallmarked inside the case backs for 1865. The case is beautifully decorated and it is in lovely condition, as is the watch glass.

The dial is in super condition, it is signed The London Lever Registered but the wording is very faint.

The watch comes with an English silver double chain hallmarked for 1898, and also a solid silver fob also hallmarked for 1898, it incorporates a heart, a cross and an achor which symbolises the three Theological virtues: Faith, Hope and Love/Charity.

The watch and chain come in a vintage presentation box.
