Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco jewellery created during the 1920s is characterised by bold geometric shapes, symmetrical patterns, and intricate metalwork such as filigree and milgrain. Platinum became the predominant metal during this era, allowing jewellers to create light, lace-like settings for diamonds and coloured gemstones.

Art Deco cluster rings were predominantly crafted in platinum or 18-carat white gold to achieve a bright, white finish. The settings featured old European cut or cushion cut diamonds, often accented by calibre-cut gemstones and fine hand-engraved detailing.

Authentic 1920s pieces usually display hand-carved pierced filigree, milgrain borders along the edges, and period-appropriate diamond cuts such as old European or single cuts. Hallmark stampings indicating platinum or gold purity and signs of hand-fabrication rather than modern casting also aid in identification.

Art Deco diamond rings function as statement pieces that pair with both formal evening wear and minimalist modern attire. The neutral tones of platinum and clear diamonds allow these historical pieces to complement modern tailored suits and neutral colour palettes seamlessly.

Antique platinum and diamond jewellery should be cleaned using warm water, mild liquid soap, and a soft-bristled brush to remove dust from pierced areas. Periodic professional inspections are recommended to ensure the claws and filigree settings remain secure over time.
