Description

This large antique Swedish desk is fabulous looking & exceptional quality. It’s a blond satin birch, which has wonderful grains & patterns within the wood. This desk has panelled cupboards on the front of the two pedestals, behind which are drawers with brass handles. The drawer fronts are also satin birch. This desk is finished off all the way around, so the back of the desk is as nice as the front, with the small oval carved motifs in the middle of the pedestals. It’s very much Biedermeier style & has bold sabre feet. I would date it to around the 1850-60’s period & it’s in excellent condition. This desk lifts apart into three sections for easy transportation. There is also a working key for the cupboard locks.
