A quality French striking carriage clock. A well made case with locking carrying handle. An enamel dial with blued steel ''moon'' hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell. Engraved to the bottom of the backplate ''Payne & Co, 163, New Bond Street, London. Numbered 3597. Circa 1890.
 
The numbering and engraved ''hands'' and arrow to the backplate shows it''s very likely to have been made by noted maker Drocourt. He was a supplier of clocks to Payne & Co.
