Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Vintage Wrist Watch Company

An antique fusee silver pocket watch by James Varley Bishop Auckland.

The signed fusee movement is working well and a winding key is included although it is not original to the watch. The movement is signed J Varley, Bishop Auckland and numbered 2860.

The watch itself measures 44.8mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case backs for London 1873 with the makers mark for Joseph Sharpe. The case is in good condition with just light surface marking from use. The inner case back has the remains of a personal inscription.

The watch glass has faint surface marking from use although very acceptable.

The enamel dial has an old repair to the outer chapter ring between 12 & 1 o''clock and some faint hairline cracks at 3 o''clock although hardly noticeable to the naked eye but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The watch has a later hour hand although antique.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

Price includes worldwide postage.
