Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced between 1830 and 1837, William IV furniture bridges the transition between the refined proportions of the Regency era and the bolder designs of the early Victorian period. Common features include robust turnings, thick pedestal supports, scrolling motifs, and rich timber veneers such as mahogany and rosewood.

These tables feature solid or veneered mahogany tops designed with a revolving and folding mechanism resting on a central column. Below the top, a concealed storage compartment is revealed when the surface is turned, supported by a heavy pedestal base with quadripartite legs and brass castors.

Authentic William IV pieces exhibit characteristic turned columns, concave quadform platform bases, and original brass castors. Look for hand-cut dovetails inside internal storage wells, natural timber contraction marks, and period brass hinges along the swivel mechanism.

Positioned closed against a wall, the table serves as a compact hall console or side table beneath a framed mirror or artwork. Unfolded, it transitions into an occasional dining, tea, or games surface, offering versatility in entryways, living rooms, or dining spaces.

Maintain the finish by dusting regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year in the direction of the grain. Keep the table away from direct sunlight and radiators to prevent timber warping or surface fading.
