Very large Yelloware Mochaware Mocha ware jug or pitcher C1850.
Made in Staffordshire around 1850 these pieces are very collectable especially when such a large size.
Decorated with two bands of seaweed pattern.
The body is an almost mustard colour with the decoration being in blue and brown.
It stands 8 1/2 inches 21.5 cm tall 5 1/2 inches 14 cm in diameter and 10 inches 25.5 cm spout to handle.
It holds 6 pints.
Excellent condition, light crazing to the glaze as I''ve shown in the pictures.
No chips, cracks, damage or repairs.
On firing crack on the inside of the spout, as you can see it''s not visible on the outside.
This is from manufacture and not later damage. Rough to the touch now, it looks as if there was some sort of
unfired filler put in it but over time this has worn away. Doesn''t effect the look or the usability of the jug.
