''Making Ready for the Herring Fishing, Pittenweem, Fife'' is a lovely old watercolour by John Ernest Aitken who exhibited widely including works at the Royal Academy, Royal Cambrian Academy, Liverpool and Manchester. The painting is in fine unrestored condition and measures 13''x 20''. It is in a good original gilt frame giving an overall size of 22''x 29''.
