Walnut And Burr Walnut Wardrobe By Whytock And Reid

Circa 1900, exhibition quality walnut and burr walnut wardrobe by Whytock and Reid of Edinburgh. With arched top, simple cornice and half round moulding surmounted on a small beading, it has a frieze veneered in burr walnut to all sides. It has 2 full length drawers with panels, with silvered handles and inside is a single, removable shelf stamped ''Whytock and Reid.'' Beneath the shelf is a brass cross rail and hooks along the back of the wardrobe. The gables have grain veneers, matched top to bottom. The wardrobe is in one piece and stands on 4 large squat bun feet.
