A small silver Marvin pocket watch, Glasgow 1917.
The watch has a Swiss stem winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch is of small proportions measuring just 33mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for Glasgow 1917, with an importer''s mark for James Weir, a watch manufacturer and chronometer maker to the Admiralty, jeweller and silversmith with branches in Argyle Street and Buchanan Street in Glasgow. The case has some surface marking to the hinged back but overall is in very acceptable condition for such an early piece.
The watch glass is in good condition.
The white enamel dial has a short faint hairline between the centre and the sub seconds dial but it is barely visible to the naked eye. The hands appear to be the originals, the infill has been removed over the years.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
