A very fine H Mower & Stephenson, Georgian mahogany brass gallery sideboard. with thee central drawers above two flanking cubourds. Raised on six spirialling legs, four to the front , two to the rear. Completely original with its brass lion head looped handles to the drawers and upon cuboards. The quality of this mid George 111 period sideboard is is apparent without the stamped drawer top with the makers name ( Mower & Stephenson. H. Mawer & Stephenson are listed in The Dictionary of English Furniture Makers, London based. The name has appeared on a Louis Philippe console table, and a carved giltwood and composition overmantel mirror, early 19th century. The latter bore a label including the address 1-9 Lillie Road, London, SW
