A fabulous Japanese Meiji period silkwork tapestry in original hardwood frame depicting an autumn forest landscape scene, a river runs into the distance from the centre with large boulders at its edges and trees grow either side adding to the perception of depth. This charming example of tapestry is beautifully executed using strands of different coloured pinks for the tree leaves, with reflections on the water and shed leaves on the floor, it is in very good condition commensurate with age.
