Large French Brass Antique Chandelier

19th century
Description

An ornate good quality French ormolu cast brass and crystal 12 light birdcage form chandelier. The reeded scrolling arms issuing from a cage interior to hold brass bobeche drip pans, each drip pan holding small French pear drops. The top coronet is in the form of ornate leaves holding large French slab drops and good quality pear drops. In the centre of the curvaceous body is an ornate brass band under which lies a good quality large spire. The bottom of the chandelier is a mass of swags of large octagonal button chains and good quality heavy pear drops and French slab drops. The piece is finished off with a large faceted glass ball. c1880

H120 x W80cm This is the height of the chandelier only without chain and ceiling rose which can be adjusted to requirements.
