Rowland Henry Hill(1873 - 1952)
Rowland Henry Hill was a member of the Staithes group of artists. He lived at Ellerby, near Runswick Bay. He studied at the Academy in Bushey, at the Halifax School of Art and at Herkomer''s. Hill exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy, from 1897, the Paris Salon and with the Staithes Group. Examples of his work are in the public collections at Leeds, Wakefield, Whitby and Harrogate and in the Imperial War Museum in London.
