Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Grand Tour bronzes are reduced-scale bronze replicas of classical Greek and Roman sculptures produced during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. European travellers acquired these souvenirs while visiting historic sites across Italy and France to display classical erudition.

French bronze studies were typically created using the lost-wax casting technique or sand casting methods. The cast bronze was subsequently hand-chased to refine anatomical details and finished with a chemical patina to achieve a uniform dark tone.

Authentic period bronzes feature hand-chased surface details, sharp muscle definition, and natural wear to the patina around raised edges. Look for integral cast bases, foundry stamps, or inscriptions, alongside historical construction features such as hand-cut threaded rods.

A classical bronze study provides architectural structure when placed on a library bookcase, marble mantelpiece, or console table. Pairing dark patinated metal with contrasting materials such as polished stone, light timber, or glass creates a structured display.

Regular dusting with a soft microfibre cloth or camel-hair brush is sufficient for routine maintenance. To preserve the original patina, apply a thin layer of neutral microcrystalline wax periodically and buff gently, avoiding liquid metal polishes.
