Four ceramic Victorian Scottish carpet bowls in plaid and sponge ware design. Carpet balls came from Fife on the East side of Scotland. In the last century, Scottish mansions usually had a box inside the door in the front hallway - containing a set of carpet bowls. Very decorative items particular displayed in a bowl or glass vessel.
