Longines 24 Hour Dial Gct Sterile Cased Deck Watch, Deck Watch Holder And Original Box, Circa 1942
Status:This item has been sold Sold by:Oliver Sargent Antiques
For sale is this very rare and what i can only describe as mint sterile cased WW2 Longines 24 hour dialed GCT navigation watch with fitted USA Army Air Corp issue flight protection case and its original box, circa 1942. The complete set appears to have remained in the stores waiting to be classified and marked up but was never ever issued and looks to be unused. As you can see for the many pics, the Longines GCT is in what appears to be mint condition and in full working order. The high grade 21 jewel Longines movement is adjusted to 5 positions, and would cost an absolute fortune to recreate today. The dial on this Longines with its state of wind sub dial can only be described as a work of art, and looks amazing with is stylized deep blued hand set. Just a fantastic complete set that probably could never be bettered.
