The painting depicts a tranquil rural scene on a bright, sunny day in summer, with two mallards about to land on a lake, with their feet in a typical braking position. There are two other mallards already on the lake amid some reeds. ABOUT THE ARTIST WALTER ROBIN JENNINGS Was born in Dudley Staffordshire in 1927 and was an excellent artist in his chosen field.He was a superb landscape and animal painter, primarily in oil and exhibited widely. His work has been reproduced in card form by Medici, Royle and Solomon & Whitehead. There is one of his paintings in the National Collection and can be viewed at Dudley Museum.
