George II Barber of Winster Longcase Clock

An original george II period oak cased 'cottage' longcase clock made by sought after maker,jonas barber*of winster(westmorland).numbered 307 to the front plate of the 30 hour bell striking movement.date for 1756.brass dial with original hands and date aperture to the centre.typical barber features with cherub spandrels to the corners and curl to the five past the hour.country made case with turned columns and moulded cornice top.shaped top to the case door.full working order.stands 78"high.

*jonas barber junior was one of the few clockmakers to number his clocks,starting in 1748.he made over 1400 clocks.some of these are listed in b.w.browne-cave-browne's barber longcase clock book*

Through our trusted international shippers we will source the most competitive quote for delivery to your door. All items are wrapped and packed by the specialist shippers.
