Highly Decorative Austrian Painted Life Size Terracotta Bust Of A Nubian Man

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: LVS Decorative Arts

A highly decorative late 19th century/early 20th century life size Austrian painted terracotta bust of a Nubian man by Koenig & Lensfeld.

This figure is finished in exotic traditional dress with a shawl and necklace and a fez hat.

He sits on a decorated plinth inscribed ''MAROKKO'' meaning Morocco which would refer to the area he is from, ie North Africa.

This figure has most of its original paintwork, although he does have some missing paintwork. However, this is not unusual for this type of bust being terracotta and this is in good condition compared to many by this particular company.

This is a great decorative piece and is in good condition.
