A lovely novelty English sterling silver inkwell in the form of a bell, the hinged lid opening to reveal a removable glass chamber for easy refilling and cleaning.
There is a full English hallmark near the bottom of the inkwell, somewhat rubbed, for Birmingham 1915. The makers initials are also present for the silversmith, Arthur and John Zimmerman.
The interior of the lid also has a partial English hallmark and is also lucky enough to have the English design registration number 538848 for the year 1909.
Excellent condition, with a base measuring 2 3/4'' in diameter and standing 2 1/2'' tall.
