Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency occasional tables, dating from the early 19th century, are characteristically crafted from dark hardwoods such as mahogany or rosewood. They frequently feature classical proportions, central turned pedestals, reeded or sabre legs, and original brass fittings including castors and drawer pull handles.

Cabinetmakers during the early 19th century predominantly utilised solid timber and veneers of West Indian or Cuban mahogany. Secondary woods such as pine or oak were used for drawer linings, while cast or stamped brass was favoured for castors, keyhole escutcheons, and drawer pulls.

Authentic pieces from this era display hand-dovetailed drawer joints, period-correct brass hardware with age-appropriate patination, and hand-turned column bases. Natural shrinkage marks along timber grains and uneven timber wear beneath the tabletop or base also signal historic age.

Compact side tables serve as excellent functional accents beside contemporary armchairs, in reading nooks, or within entrance foyers. The warm mahogany tones and structured lines contrast effectively against pale minimalist walls and structured upholstery.

Maintain the original french polish by dusting regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth and applying a high-grade beeswax polish once or twice a year. Keep the table away from direct sunlight and central heating sources to prevent the wood from cracking or fading.
