Antique Edwardian Inlaid & Painted Satin Wood Cylinder Top Bureau

Description

Antique Satinwood cylinder top desk with a beautiful original painted section on the cylinder. This Edwardian bureau which is in good original condition, has been restored & French polished. It did have a small split on one side caused through movement of the wood, which has been professionally restored & this can be just about seen in one of the images. Original satinwood items like these are quite rare & sought after. This one has original brass handles, ebony inlay & tapered spade end feet. It also still has a top back gallery, which often go missing. Inside the tambour is a practical interior which has a tooled leather top pull out writing surface. I think the best feature on this bureau is the finely painted scene on the cylinder.

Knee Height - 28.5", 72 cm
