Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the late eighteenth century and refined during the Regency era, Pembroke tables were versatile drop-leaf tables designed for light dining, writing, or needlework. Their compact size and moveable nature allowed them to be placed against walls or brought to the centre of a room as required.

Regency makers predominantly utilised high-grade flame mahogany veneers over solid oak or pine carcases, accompanied by hand-cut dovetail joints on drawers. Bases frequently featured turned central pedestals terminating in splayed legs with cast brass toe caps and castors.

Authentic Regency pieces typically display classical proportions, subtle reeding, brass accents such as lion paw castors, and original hand-cut joinery inside drawer boxes. The underside of drop-leaf hinged mechanisms usually reveals period-correct hand-planed woodwork and aged iron hinges.

A Regency Pembroke table functions as a refined side table alongside a contemporary sofa or as an occasional desk in a compact living space. The drop-leaf design allows flexible positioning in narrow corridors or alcoves when not fully extended.

Dust mahogany surfaces regularly with a soft, dry lint-free cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish twice yearly to preserve the timber finish. Avoid placing mahogany near direct heat sources or in direct sunlight to prevent veneer movement and colour fading.
