Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Meissen, established in Saxony in 1710, was the first European manufactory to produce hard-paste porcelain. During the 19th century, the factory revisited 18th-century Rococo themes, producing intricate figure groups depicting aristocratic scenes, classical motifs, and pastoral figures with elaborate hand-painted decoration.

These figures were cast in multiple press-moulded porcelain components, assembled using slip, and fired at high temperatures. Decorators applied overglaze enamel pigments by hand before a final gilding process and lower-temperature firing to set the colours.

Authentic pieces feature the factory mark of crossed swords in cobalt blue under the glaze, alongside incised model numbers, impressed moulders numbers, and painted painters marks. High clarity of detail in facial features, fingers, and floral elements is characteristic of genuine production.

Pair porcelain figures symmetrically on a fireplace mantelpiece, console table, or within a glazed display cabinet. Placing them against neutral backwalls or alongside contemporary minimalist accessories allows their detailed polychrome decoration to stand out.

Dust figures regularly using a soft, dry camel-hair brush, taking care around delicate extremities. Avoid immersion in water, harsh chemical detergents, or extreme temperature shifts, as moisture can compromise older repairs or delicate enamelling.
