Marlborough Antiques & Interiors has dated this Georgian Inlaid Games Table to the Georgian era.
The square top is centred by an integral chess and draughts board, finely worked in alternating light and dark woods and enclosed by a broad geometric inlaid border. The combination of different veneers gives the table a particularly rich and individual appearance.

The top is raised upon an elegant turned pedestal column, with a beautifully shaped baluster profile, terminating in a distinctive triform platform base. The base itself continues the decorative scheme with contrasting inlaid veneers and stands upon three small turned bun feet.

A delightful piece of Georgian cabinetmaking, combining craftsmanship with practicality. Its compact proportions make it particularly versatile: equally appealing as an occasional or side table when closed, while providing a decorative games table when required.
The warm patination and subtle variations between the different timbers give the piece considerable character and charm.
