Description

An superb Bacon's 12" gesso terrestrial library globe on brass axis with superb turned walnut foot c.1920's. The 12" gesso globe in superb condition with good colour and clarity and bears the makers label for G. W Bacon & Co Ltd, London. Mounted on a brass axis with engraved degrees to the front, in which the globe can be rotated, and sat on a superb patinated broad turned walnut foot. Gesso (plaster) globes are difficult to find; this example is presented in excellent original condition with an original patina and no damage along with good clarity and colour.
