Andrew Cox Antiques has dated this Edwardian Silver Vesta Case to the Edwardian era.
There is a hinged lid at one end with oval seal, which remains unengraved. When opened it reveals a fully gilt interior, with space to house matches. The matches are stuck on the striker, along the side of the body. At the other end is an aperture containing the sealing wax column. A wonderful, interesting piece of silver desk ware and a great collector's item. Dimensions below.
