London City Antiques has dated this Georgian Mahogany Card Table to the 1800s.
The restrained decoration and slender proportions are typical of the late Georgian period, when furniture was becoming lighter and more elegant in design.

The shaped frieze is also delicately inlaid and the table stands on four finely turned and tapering legs, with additional supporting legs revealed when the top is opened. The narrow turned legs, with their distinctive ringed decoration, give the table a wonderfully light and graceful appearance.

The hinged top folds over to reveal the original green baize-lined playing surface, transforming the piece from an elegant console table into a practical card or games table. When closed, its shallow depth makes it particularly useful in a hallway, drawing room or sitting room.

A lovely example of late George III furniture, combining beautiful mahogany, understated inlay and exceptionally elegant proportions.
Condition Report:
In good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with its circa 1800 date. The mahogany retains a rich colour and attractive figuring. The green baize shows expected signs of age and use.
