Mahogany Drum Table / Sheraton Period

19th century
Description

A very lovely Sheraton period mahogany pedestal drum/ rent table with polychrome decoration.

The top is inset with the original gilt-tooled leather surface.

There are four dummy drawers and four real drawers which pull out on keys.

The whole is raised on three hipped cabriole supports culminating on brass caps and castors.

The hand painted polychrome decoration with floral sprays in good original condition, subtle against the wood and very charming.

Circa 1780.
